Dr. Daniel Romanelli brings over 24 years of experience as a highly respected orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and advanced surgical care. Board Certified in both Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, Dr. Romanelli is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. His extensive expertise includes currently serving as an orthopedic consultant for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and for UTRGV Athletics.
Dr. Romanelli’s impressive educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA and a medical degree from New York Medical College, followed by fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery in Los Angeles, California. His professional history also encompasses serving as an orthopedic consultant for New Mexico State University Athletics and Las Cruces area high schools for over 15 years. From 2002 to 2013, he worked as a traveling team physician for the U.S. National Soccer Team.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Romanelli has held roles such as Program Director for the Mountain View Orthopedic Residency Training Program and New Mexico delegate for the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine (AOSSM). Currently, he serves as an Official Team Doctor of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers with the DHR Health Sports Medicine team.
